You may be wondering “Are we alone? Are there humans out there besides us?”

You might be thinking, “We may not ever meet but we can’t be alone. There must be others.”

We don’t know if we’re alone or not.

But, and here’s a big but, if there are other intelligent beings out there that we don’t know about yet, they most certainly will not be humans and they probably won’t look like us. They will not share our DNA or the same immunity to diseases that we share.

Humans are only on Earth. Other extraterrestrial beings, if they exist and are intelligent, will have descended from a completely independent tree of life that doesn’t even share our common ancestors.

You are right we may never meet.

You are wrong when you say we can’t be alone. We could be alone. We don’t know. If we don’t find at least some form of life in our own solar system we may never know for sure.
