Can I do well in astronomy, if I’m not great with computers?

My answer to Can I do well in astronomy, if I’m not great with computers?

Answer by Wayne Boyd:

I’m just a guy. Don’t even own a telescope. I have a lot of experience in life. I’m going to hazard a guess, maybe give some advice.

What do you mean you’re not good with computers? You asked this question didn’t you? How did you do that? A phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer? They are all computers.

You can learn anything. There’s no “not good at” if you really want to learn. If you want to do amateur astronomy, all you need is a good telescope. If you mean professional astronomy, you’re going to have to go to school. That’s it. It’s not a profession you just walk in the door and say hey! I think telescopes are cool. Hire me.

Of course, I don’t know. I’m just a guy who doesn’t even own a telescope.
