At the edge of the Earth it doesn’t just stop and then you fall off. Since Earth’s surface is curved, as you walk it gets steeper downhill until eventually you just slide off. That’s why so many people live north of the Equator.

In fact, on the South Pole, it’s upside down completely. This picture proves it.
