As the night encroaches upon the day
When the stars above come out to play
Where upon a pillow your head does lay
A feeling of calm keeps your fear at bay

Closing your eyes you embrace the silence
Night consumes day in fervent defiance
Your mind gives in, in total compliance
Knowing it comes in complete reliance

Tranquility washes over your soul
Just as foretold in a long ago scroll
With nought to fear you give over control
Within the darkness you feel you are whole

Peacefully resting your soul is tranquil
Silently spun like a well fit mandril
Night doing its part to shore your mantle
To stars above you are ever so thankful

As daylight once again consumes the night
Your soul is now ready to wage the fight
Tranquility wields itself with great might
Conquering all evil that brings you fright
