I’m 63 and overweight. In August of 2015 I weighed more than I’ve ever weighed in my life. My weight was 275 pounds. This morning I weighed in at 243 pounds.
However a great deal of weight loss has been achieved during the month of January 2017.
My secret is not a special diet. I can eat anything I want. Of course I’ve been a vegetarian for most of my life, or at least the last 44 years of it, so my diet stays within those confines. So what is the secret?
Believe it or not the secret lies within a free app on my Android phone. I downloaded it from the Google Play Store. It’s called MyNetDiary, and no this is not an advertisement for anyone.
This is just a wonderful app for me.
I just log everything I eat and eat whatever I want. I put in my starting weight, even a picture of myself at the beginning of the diet, my height, age and gender and the weight I want to become. It’s that simple!
The app calculates how many days it will take me to achieve my target weight and how many calories a day I can consume to achieve that weight by the target date. I log everything that I eat. There is a huge database for all different kinds of foods from the supermarket to restaurants. There is even a way to scan barcodes found on the outside of a food package and the program automatically knows how many calories. It will ask you how much you ate of that product and do all the rest of the work for you. When I use it religiously (an interesting expression) it works. Simple as that. My own weight is proof.
I don’t have to pay for NutureLife or Herbalife or any of those things. It’s free.
Enough of that. Now on to bigger and better things. My target weight of 180 pounds can’t be reached until mid November. I’ll let you know how it goes. Hopefully I won’t fall off the wagon and eat myself back to my heavier self.
